Moulded Serving Platter or Coasters - Group session (1.5 - 2 hours)
Moulded Serving Platter or Coasters - Group session (1.5 - 2 hours)
*Last Class for 2024 is sold out! If you would like to make something before Christmas, please get in touch and I will see if I can schedule you in *
Join me in my Tring studio for a fun guided session on how to create your very own resin serving platter or coasters with holder! Design and create a platter to suit your interior or create something unique to gift this Christmas!
Choose from 2 different shaped platters, a set of 4 coasters (square or. circle) with its holder or 8 coasters without a holder, together with your own selection of colours and embellishments (glitters, flowers, or anything you have and would like to embed into your item)
The class is suitable for anyone at any level, whether you have used resin before or not, even if you think you are not 'arty' at all, anyone can do it!
If you have a group of friends you'd like to do the class with, please check their availability and book all places in one booking to avoid disappointment of spaces being taken up by other bookings.
It helps to have an idea of what you would like to make together with the colours you would like to create before attending the workshop, however, it is totally fine to decide on the day as I have a huge array of colours for you to choose from and you can see examples of the items before you decide.
What you can expect to learn:
Basic techniques of working with resin
Working with resin safely
How to successfully mix different types of pigments into your resin
How to reduce the number of bubbles in your resin
How to remove bubbles without ruining your silicone mould
How to finish off your moulded item once the resin has cured
Knowledge/Skills Required:
None - just a willingness to learn and have fun!
What will be provided:
Expert tuition - I have been working with resin since 2017
All Equipment - Resin (Non-toxic and food safe), silicone moulds, pigments, other embellishments (metal leaf, glitter, dried petals) If you have any personal effects you would like to add to your platter e.g herbs and spices, please bring them along, they need to be less than 5mm in depth.
PPE - Apron, Gloves, Shoe Covers (do not wear your best/expensive shoes!), Safety goggles, Face mask
Small pieces of sand paper of different grits to 'finish off' your items should the item have ridges you want to remove.
Tea, Coffee & Biscuits

What to wear
Do not wear your best clothes! Despite the PPE provided, accidents can happen and you may accidentally get resin on your clothes so wear 'old' clothes that you would not mind getting resin on. Do not wear your best shoes either. Wear warm clothing as my studio can get fairly cold.
